An unforgettable journey

We’ve made two trips around the sun since we first came to Roatan to find our dream island home. It has been an amazing, and sometimes frightening, journey learning about buying property and building a home in another country. We closed on our Sandy Bay property in November 2022. After several visits and considerable research, we now have completed construction drawings and have signed a contract with our builder, Colins Development.

We have met so many wonderful people on Roatan and have discovered wonderful restaurants and wildlife! Our first stop when we get off of the plane is the Brewery for fish tacos and Hibiscus Red Ale! We love diving with Sam and Amanda at Scuba Roatan at Palmetto Bay, and the Cove has the best coconut shrimp and friendly service! We always visit Kristi’s Overlook for wonderful TexMex and Hibiscus margaritas, and we love visiting the sloths, monkeys, and macaws at Daniel Johnson’s Monkey and Sloth Hangout!
